Microsoft .NET Framework configuration
XFDRuntime .NET control cannot be instantiated when .NET Framework is not installed or properly configured or when a pop-up blocker is blocking the communication.
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 or .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 must be installed and properly configured on your machine in order to run STARLIMS v10 application.
To configure .NET Framework download this  script (requires administrative rights).
Due to latest updates and security patches introduced by Microsoft updates, additional steps need to be followed in order to configure Internet Explorer browser to allow STARLIMS client to run.

Internet Explorer settings
The following versions of Internet Explorer are supported by STARLIMS: IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, IE11.
Popup blocker
Your popup blocker should be configured to allow popups.
If you have Internet Explorer 7 or higher, it comes with a pop up blocker. To change your settings select "Tools" from the menu at the top, then "Pop Up Blocker", then "Pop Up Blocker Settings". There you can add STARLIMS installation web site to allowed list.
Google Toolbar
When a pop up is blocked you will get a notification line towards the top of the window. While STARLIMS works fine when Google Toolbar is configured to allow popups from installation web site, it is recommended to completely disable Google Popup blocker.
Trusted Sites list
Based on your browser security settings you may be required to add the Starlims website - https://rucdrlims.rutgers.edu to the list of trusted sites.
- Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools menu.
- Click on Internet Options and click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Trusted sites icon.
- Confirm that Enable Protected Mode is unchecked. If it is checked, uncheck it.
- Click on Sites
- Enter - https://rucdrlims.rutgers.edu and click Add
